THE VERNAL EQUINOX RITE
Light candles etc and charge up wands
Cast circle between 5am and 6.30pm
Stand before the alter and think about the past season
and what it has done to the mother earth
we now begin to feel the need for the sun's strength
Also think about the knowledge we have learnt
and how we are going to use it
When the sun comes up we say goodbye to the dark time
at this point imagine two men fighting each other
but not for long ( sun / dark Oak / holly)
The sun wins for the earth to continue.
The dark leaves the circle.
We all say : Hail God of light
Welcome the Lord of the Sun
We dance and sing summer songs and celebrate the sun
Direct our power with the cone shape shiff
Sit down and meditate ready to shape change into a hare:
"All things that love the sun are out of doors
The skies rejoice at the mornings birth
The grass is bright and theirs raindrops on the moors
The hare is running races in her mirth".
As you feel yourself ready say:
"Hare hare God send the care
I am in Hares likeness now
But I shall be a woman even now
Hare hare God send the care".
